I did not start with a lesson plan. I started with a mother’s question: how do I prepare my child for a world he will eventually have to navigate without me?
WHY I’M BUILDING THIS
The company idea began in 2018.
As a single mother building a career in accounting, I was teaching my son concepts I was learning and using myself: budgeting, assets and liabilities, business, responsibility, and decision-making.
That experience made a larger gap impossible to ignore. Children spend years preparing academically, but too many enter adulthood without having practiced the decisions adulthood immediately requires.
In 2018, that realization became the idea for PreppedKids. I began thinking through the business with a SCORE mentor. The concept was early, with no launched product, outside capital, or meaningful commercial traction at that stage. The mission stayed with me and grew into a much larger platform.
